Dance, movement and physical theatre workshops; devised, delivered and evaluated. Engaging in creative dance tasks students are asked, playfully, to find new ways of communicating, expressing and sharing.
Engaging bodies, brains and hearts, self-confidence grows and inhibitions shrink. With a person centred approach, the sessions are inclusive, responsive and challenging.
Whilst process is always key for me – ensuring the students engage in meaningful and creative experiences, small performances can be worked towards.
I am experienced at working alongside musicians, visual artists and writers. I am happy working with existing material or co-creating across the arts forms as we go. Sessions can also respond to themes being explored elsewhere within the school or group, looking at how dance can support students’ understanding. Projects can be one-off workshops, week intensives or more regular.
See the folk dance section for further ways to include dance and movement into the curriculum.
What age groups? Primary, secondary, further & higher level education sessions can be devised including degree level courses in practical and theory contexts. Masters level sessions in somatic movement work; see somatic movement page.
